The Harpsicle® Harp has no sharping levers so it is usually tuned in the key of C; however, all you need to play in other keys is the tuning wrench that comes with your harp and a chromatic tuner. After you have had your new harp for a couple of months, the new strings will have stretched and the “belly” on the soundboard will rise. By then your Harpsicle® Harp will hold tune for days at a time. In addition to the tuning wrench, we will send along a string chart and some basic care instructions. Of course, additional information is always available on this site and we remain ready to answer whatever questions you may have to the very best of our ability.

The Sharpsicle™ Harp has levers on the C & F strings making it well-suited for Celtic music and frequently the choice of harpists wishing to have a harp for music therapy as well as the recommendation of most of the major harp therapy programs. The Sharpsicle™ Harp is also incredibly popular with harp and music teachers for use with students. It can be played in the keys of C, D, G and the relative minors and it has bridge pins on all the strings so additional levers can be added later if desired. Musicians who are comfortable on other instruments often begin their experimentation on harp with a Flatsicle™ Harp. Likewise, extremely experienced harpists often select the Flatsicle™ Harp as their little “knock-around” harp. (This is easier to understand if you know that their primary harp may be worth tens of thousands of dollars.)
The Flatsicle™ Harp has sharping levers installed on the C, F & B strings allowing the player to play in the keys of C, D, G, F and the relative minors. On this instrument we recommend that the B-string be tuned down to B-flat and sharped to B natural for the keys of F and D-minor. As with the Sharpsicle™ Harp, the Flatsicle™ Harp can have levers added later as needed. This model is extremely popular with music therapists and is recommended by the International Harp Therapy Program. It comes with a string chart and tuning wrench.
The Fullsicle™ Harp has full levers which makes the complete range of lever harp music available. This harp can be played in 8 keys, Eb, Bb, F, C, G, D, A and E and the relative minors. The Fullsicle™ Harp is well-loved and played by traveling harp professionals and skilled amateurs all over the world. Fullsicle™ Harps also tend to be the favorite of those with general music knowledge or those who play other instruments like piano, guitar and violin because having full sharping adds considerably more flexibility and opens musical possibility. Each Fullsicle™ Harp comes with a string chart and tuning wrench.
The Special Edition Fullsicle™ Harp takes the Harpsicle® Line to the next level by adding the richness of solid cherry or walnut wood. The SE retains all of the attributes of the Fullsicle™ Harp, including full Rees levers, and adds both upgraded wood and, in the lowest octave, wrapped strings for improved feel and voice. This is a wonderful, professional, quality harp in a small, light form factor that can travel virtually anywhere right along with you. Available in your choice of walnut (dark brown) or cherry (reddish brown). Cherry is especially interesting in that when your harp is young the wood will be the reddish honey color shown below and as your harp ages the color of the cherry deepens into a rich red with golden highlights. All Special Editions come with full Rees Levers installed, upgraded bass strings installed, a string chart and a tuning wrench.

The Deluxe Harpsicle® Harp Bag sports extra thick side padding and comfortable backpack straps for hands free and care free traveling. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick, Strap, and Adjustable Stand are all accessories that make holding your harp easy and relaxing. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick easily clamps to the inside of the lower access hole on the back of the harp, adding a horizontal bar that rests across your thighs.
